How to keep the screen on when plugged in?

I would like the surface screen to stay on when it is plugged in. I was able to do this on my laptop by adjusting the power settings, but on the surface the same settings made no difference in "Metro" mode. Any ideas on keeping the screen on?

I use it for recipes a lot, and don't want to touch the screen with greasy hands to see the recipe again...

you have to go through the Desktop App. From there you have to go to Charms bar, Settings, Control Panel. Then Change VIEW BY: from category to Large Icons. (no reason to do this other than it is just easier for me!). Choose POWER OPTIONS. Then in the middle of the window, CHANGE PLAN SETTINGS. From there you can set up what you like.
