How to change default screen keyboard

Ok I need to change the default screen keyboard from the writing translator pad to the keyboard.
I MUCH prefer using the KEYBOARD over the writing pad to translate.
The problem is that the default popup is the writing pad. Then it takes me 2 click to switch every time.

The problem is that the default popup is the writing pad. Then it takes me 2 click to switch every time.

If the pen is hovering near the screen or invoked via the pen it will always default to Ink Input, otherwise there is an icon in the lower right corner of the Input Panel and there you can select which one to use, Windows remembers the one selected and will default to it next it is invoked unless the scenario above plays out.

hmmm well I do click bottom right icon and switch to the keyboard but this action is Not remembered.

Are you evoking the input panel with the pen or your finger? If by pen it will always being up the ink input panel.

I use the Pen alot as the icons are too small to accurately navigate with my finger.
