Just use the default Handbrake settings, your movies will look great on the Surface. I've been using Multimedia 8 for audio and video playback and it's an excellent (free!) app.

Thanks for the info/ I'll try a couple of different ones and see if there is any difference.

I use the High End preset as I also watch them on my laptop and don't want to make two copies. They play great on the Surface.

The only thing that will kill the Surface is App developers..... There needs to be more Quality Apps. Not the bootlegged Facebook apps that show up in the App Store.
