Solved Desktop disappeared

Hi,

my desktop with icons disappeared and now I have an empty (green) screen.
Is there a way to get it back?
I can open the explorer (with a right click), then I can see the desktop in an extra window but not the desktop I'm used to.
I see no way for creating new icons on the blank green screen.

One of my systems has an icon next to the start menu that brings up a virtual machine that is blank. Is it possible you taped on that?

I've had this happen a few times recently. Coming out of sleep I get a black screen, no desktop icons or taskbar or start menu but my mouse cursor is there and moving it works but not clicking. Once Ctrl+Alt+Del brought up task manager but other times it did not. sliding down from the top brings down the lock screen image and it says slide down to shut down. Rebooting fixes it. Strange.

Solved it:

It happened as I removed the keyboard.
Rebooting didn't fix it.
This morning I connected the keyboard.
During the start procedure I got a dialog “tablet-modus yes/no”.
I clicked “no” and got my desktop back.
I have not seen this dialog before yesterday.

Sounds like it was just in tablet mode. If it happens again you can swipe in from the right to get the action center and pick to switch back from tablet to desktop mode.

There is an option to disable the Auto Tablet Mode. With Auto Tablet it will enable without the keyboard.
