Circles appear and unit freezes

I have a Surface RT (64 gig) and it has recently developed this problem. Small circles appear in the top corners of the screen during normal use and the unit freezes. Turning on and off is the only way to clear it. Has anybody else had this problem and, if so, any solutions?
Has anybody ideas on what to try?

Never heard of that before, that's a new one as far as I know. I recommend contacting Microsoft Surface Support.
You could try doing a Reset and I would imagine MS will ask you to do one before replacing it unless its a known hardware problem for which there's no fix. Save time and contact them first.

Thanks for the response. I have taken your advice and performed a soft (retain data) reset. So far, in 24 hours, all is running OK. Will monitor and perform full reset if problem re-occurs.
