Can't pair Apple magic mouse

When I try to Bluetooth pair my new magic mouse, it asks for a password. If I cancel, it doesn't pair. What's the secret to success here? Thanks!

Usually it it is something like "0000" or "1234".

That was it. Thanks! I scoured the mouse instruction manual and there is no mention of a password code that I could find. How did you figure that out? Trial and error?

that would be almost 10,000 trial and errors. They would have had to have been pretty lucky to have gotten it. That's bazaar that a mouse would need a password to pair it.

0000 is a pretty standard Bluetooth pairing code.
