8.1 update 1

Downloaded and installed last night. Pretty straight forward, though I was careful to install the KBs in the right order (see post #21 above) and restart between each one. Seems a bit smoother, IE11 is not bad, but have to get used to figuring out if I want the modern apps/icons on the task bar in the desktop. All-in-all modern apps on the desktop and a sliderbar on the modern start menu are ok, just different.

I just tried to induce that on my SP2 but could not - worked as expected.

Strangely neither can I anymore - perhaps one more reboot was required? I am really liking the peak available in some apps. For example if you have Music running and go to the desktop you will see player controls. Curently I see no bugs

Nice to hear this critical update is good, now I'm anxious to see what they have in store for the Surface 2! as I'm sure that won't be leaked... lol
