why have so many people had trouble with their type covers since mid 2017? Mine pefectly OK one day - totally dead the next! It is not detected in device manager. My SP3 is now junk as a work tool. Update history says keyboard driver 1.1.504.0 successfully installed on25th of August...- danmc

New & Used Keyboard lights up but not working
look in settings, update history. See if there is a reference to a recent update to the keyboard driver. In my case the keyboard totally stopped functioning a couple of days after an update in August 2017- danmc

Manually install keyboard cover drivers
!!!!! Exactly the same thing has just happened on my Pro3. Keyboard driver update is listed in update history!!!!!- danmc

type cover dead
yesterday my surface pro3 keyboard stopped working. I tried restarting the surface - didn't help. cleaned the contacts - didn't help. cannot find it mentioned in device manager. looked in update history - found message: " surface keyboard driver successfully installed" a few days ago!!!
