Yes, I think I may have dropped the pen a few times. Nothing too crazy but pretty sure it's fallen onto the wood floor.

Just to clarify, changing the tip in this case did not work. Something was wrong with the actual pen.

So just to follow up... I tried switching out nibs with no success. Went to Best Buy today and got a new pen to try and that worked. Even with all the other nibs I had tried previously.

I have found a few other threads that seem to show that the issue the OP posted was due to a broken pen nib. I've tried replacing mine with one of the different ones but it hasn't seemed to work. Maybe try that @cska123 ?

It creates breaks in the lines drawn in every program. (OneNote, FreshPaint, Sketchbook, etc).

I was hoping the last few updates would fix this. Maybe the creators update will. Might try uninstalling the pen and reinstalling again.

My wifes SP3 and my SP4 both occasionally have this problem seemingly out of sleep mode but not every time. Pens/batteries work fine otherwise. I tried uninstalling drivers, and remapping bluetooth with no luck.

Yeah, the pen works in every other way just fine. Just not the eraser clicks to launch apps. I've tried removing and re pairing it which works until the computer goes to sleep.

I do have the Surface app installed and have set the Pen eraser presses for Ink on 1 click, and One Note on 2 clicks. Neither combos work to bring up either app. Otherwise, the pen works as it should (writes, erases, secondary clicks).

I feel like there are quite a few people out there that aren't aware you can flip the keyboard around and re-attach with the soft side out.

I got a cheap USB one by LG at Microcenter that has worked great.

I picked this up from Amazon on a whim since it was cheap... Works just fine, has a slot for the pen, but its kinda ugly. Incipio has a few new ones out. Might try this one out next...
