I don't think that your advice is valid. The SP4 is actually quite a bit more powerful, not to point out the additional RAM which would in at least my case make an upgrade a no brainer. The pricing on the Surface is steep, but again it isn't crazy. Crazy pricing is defined by 12.3 inch 'iPod'...

Only 10 more days to go. Personally I prefer 8.1 over 10 as well. I find it surprising that the battery life is longer on 8.1, I would have thought power management would be much better on 10. Ah well the mysteries of Microsoft..

Which model are you going with? With the Pro 4 128 GB is the least amount of space you can get, and disk clean up is pretty good at freeing up space. I personally have gone with the 16 GB/256 GB.

I am no expert on SD cards, but I suspect that is the read speed.

It's not going to help in any case. The SD card is much slower than the disk, and you wouldn't gain anything. IMHO.. YMMV

Does it really have an effect in your real world use case? Personally the only time I have noticed a difference in HDD performance on any machine is when using an external SSD versus a mechanical drive. And that too mostly running VM's. YMMV.. do let us know.

I use Norton on all of my machines.. no issues. I also use defender on all of my VM's.. no issues either.

What I would love to see is a comparison of a top end iPad Pro versus a top end Surface Pro 4 (i7, 16 GB RAM). The benchmarks would be quite interesting..

Congratulations on being patient #1 at JL to buy the SP4. Pity they only have the 4 GB model. I guess I will wait it out until I actually have something else to do in the area. Or until the 10th of Dec when the i7 models become available. :(

I really want to see the performance benchmarks on the i7 units. On an aside don't the SB and SP4 use the same i7 models?

I know a number of people using a US bought SP3 in the yUK without any Wifi issues. You may have warranty issues, but I can comment about the state of affairs in Be.
