only 4 hours of battery EVEN WHEN I optimize for battery

ok I'm at 9% so I'm going to head home now and will check this thread tonight. My surface only lasted 3 hours and 20 minutes. Really curious what's going on here since it only has 52 cycles too. Very sad :(

only 4 hours of battery EVEN WHEN I optimize for battery

FYI I wasn't doing anything in edge at the time when I ran this ^. I might have had either 1 tab of reddit up, or 1 tab of this forum up.

only 4 hours of battery EVEN WHEN I optimize for battery

Yeah unfortunately I reinstalled windows in October after I got into a windows update boot loop so it's a pretty clean install right now. I don't see any high CPU processes in task manager either - I have no idea why the battery drain is so big :(

only 4 hours of battery EVEN WHEN I optimize for battery

My capacity is about 35k mWh but the discharge rate is about -7k/hr and I am getting about 4 hours of battery life. This is all *WITH* me trying to optimize for battery life. I have battery saver on, the screen on low and all I'm doing here is browsing the internet (reddit) so nothing intense...

My SP4 keeps rebooting automatically to install updates and they removed the option to disable? WHY!

Yes this is what I see now too with the options to disable automatic restart disabled and it forces me to give it a 6 hour window where its allowed to automatically restart without my permission. And then if I was in sleep it will just restart and kill any running applications. So without...

My SP4 keeps rebooting automatically to install updates and they removed the option to disable? WHY!

They've kept the same heading but removed the options to prevent automatic shutdown stuff

My SP4 keeps rebooting automatically to install updates and they removed the option to disable? WHY!

I used to be able to go in and do this: but now this option is just gone (lol) and for some reason Microsoft thinks it's A GREAT IDEA to just reboot and close all my programs right in the middle of my work day! I had to open up group policy editor and navigate that mess to enforce a policy...

New Surface Pro and Pen Designed to Work Seamlessly With Office and New Whiteboard App

9 would be awesome.... when it comes to Microsoft and battery life I have some serious trust issues... I might pick one up I guess, but I might also wait for Apple to announce their MBP update next month first.

New Surface Pro and Pen Designed to Work Seamlessly With Office and New Whiteboard App

13.5 hours of battery life? Such an adorable claim. I'd be shocked, *shocked* if it hits 10.

can I have both connected standby AND my power saver plan?

Power consumption on the balanced plan is always like 9,000mW to 14,000mW which is pretty high. Dang it. So there's no way at all I can use other power plans without losing instantgo.

can I have both connected standby AND my power saver plan?

I swear though that in the past I've been able to see other power plans with connected standby, and just haven't been able to edit them. So I literally have to pick then between connected standby and power saver? :/

can I have both connected standby AND my power saver plan?

If I keep connected standby on then the ONLY power plan I see is Balanced. I don't see the built in power saving plan nor do I see my custom one. If I turn CS off then I see all my plans but then I have to hibernate... .... and wifi doesn't work when I come out of sleep, which literally has...

Microsoft announces the Surface Laptop and Windows 10S

That's kind of a funny way of putting it to me. That it's designed to highlight the strengths of its severely reduced set of features since it's crippled in terms of what apps it can run (can't even run cmd.exe).

Microsoft announces the Surface Laptop and Windows 10S

Wont k-12 folks be more inclined to buy something cheaper like a Chrome Book still? You can get laptops for less than half the price of the Surface Laptop that should be alright for schools I would imagine. In terms of the specs looking pretty close to what Apple's offering.... well, the 4GB...

Microsoft announces the Surface Laptop and Windows 10S

Yes I wont buy it, and I think a lot of other people wont buy it either because it sounds like a slightly less bad Windows RT to me. Also IMO this is different than just Home vs Pro. One version lets you run any app you want and one version does not.

Microsoft announces the Surface Laptop and Windows 10S

Sure they're forcing you. Just like Apple forces its phone users to only get apps from its app store. They're forcing you because the alternatives either don't exist at all on those platforms or cost you money in Microsoft's case now. And yes W10 isn't free, because part of that $1,000 price...
