Is it possible to turn off the type cover while attached?

Of course you need one! My motto: You want it, you need it! Which is why I was looking for a cheap hybrid pc to read comics and ended up with a Surface 4 Pro with docking and a lot of other stuff. As to the answer, yeah. It's quiet. It doesn't have the "tupperware lid" sound of the type cover. I...

Is it possible to turn off the type cover while attached?

Especially when you're trying to explain something to somebody who has a brain already in weekend mode! :D

Is it possible to turn off the type cover while attached?

Aha! Now I get it! And yes it does, so thanks a lot! I was just dense...

Is it possible to turn off the type cover while attached?

But the point is that I want to use it as a typing desk (table, whatever) for the keyboard I'm actually using. If I turn it backwards it's kind of hard to put the other keyboard on top of it!

Is it possible to turn off the type cover while attached?

Well, I can live without the family from next summer, when my daughter moves out. Of course I'll keep my wife, but that shouldn't count as a family! I mean to have the type cover in the standard position and rest the Designer Desktop keyboard on that. And I mean plastic between the contact...

Is it possible to turn off the type cover while attached?

I take it you don't have the new type cover for the Pro 4. If you had you'd now that typing fast with that thing in your lap makes a sound not unlike tapping your fingers on a large Tupperware box. But I really wanted to use the type cover as a writing desk in my lap. Maybe the easiest way...

Is it possible to turn off the type cover while attached?

I have bought a MS Designer Bluetooth Desk since the type cover is so noisy when typing that my family wanted to ban me from using the Surface in the living room... Ideally I would like to use it on top of the type cover with the thing in my lap. But that would probably risk taping a key here...

Weirdness with disappearing monitors on setup changes

I hope you managed to get that driver in. That's the thing that is really stopping me from using the Surface and the docking for target practice now... ;) I specifically bought this thing for use as a triple setup, with the internal monitor as a nice addition to the two monitors I already had...

Shouldn't it be possible to activate caching on MicroSD?

No worries, as they say down under. :)

Weirdness with disappearing monitors on setup changes

Not that difficult. Download them from Intel's page: Download Intel® Beta Graphics Driver for Windows® 7/8.1/10* [15.40] You use WinRar (or Winzip if that should for some strange reason be your poison of choice) to unpack the installation file to any directory. It's just a zipped exefile. Then...

Why am I getting strange resolutions on the Surface Dock?

And that didn't last long. I couldn't take the crappy picture of the BenQ, so I stole my daughter's Samsung! Not much compared to my NEC, but at least a lot better than the BenQ! ;)

Weirdness with disappearing monitors on setup changes

Today seems to be the monitor day in the Mastiff house. I have another thread about resolution woes, but I thought this would warrant it's own thread: When I adjust something, like placement of the monitors to each other (I'm using two monitors plus the Surface's internal monitor in a three...

Why am I getting strange resolutions on the Surface Dock?

I have a Nec Multisyc monitor with a 1920x1200 resolution, which when I bought it cost an arm and a leg. Luckily they grew out again, so I now have a great monitor, plust four limbs. ;) But with the new Surface I have a very strange problem: The monitor sees that it's getting a 2020x1204...

Found it. :) No idea why I didn't see it before... So back to the scheduled programming.

Shouldn't it be possible to activate caching on MicroSD?

Thanks, mr. Bear! Almost, though. I am Mastiff and I live in Norway. but I'm not associate with Mastiff Media, which this leads to. I actually use "Mastiff in Norway" as my signature many places, since people often suppose that I live in the US, especially on US forums. But I'll poke around the...

Shouldn't it be possible to activate caching on MicroSD?

Well, I'm not really that into caching, but I think you're about right. It fills up the designated RAM first, and then saves to the card. So it would only help on small files, that can be written in bulk after a caching on single files to memory (I think...). As for the card itself there's no...

Shouldn't it be possible to activate caching on MicroSD?

Yeah, they seem to... 48 is the read speed according to Sandisk's web page, while the write speed is lower. Annoying, I bought this one because it was marked with a high write speed.

Shouldn't it be possible to activate caching on MicroSD?

According to the shop it's a a 48/48. Maybe they have marked it wrong?

Shouldn't it be possible to activate caching on MicroSD?

Probably right. I see that the max speed I get on writing big files is around 15 mb/s. Not impressive, since the card is rated for 48 mb/s! Is this a limitation in the bus, the chip, or what?
