New Hardware Update: Is This The ONE?

Streets show up on the Maps program now. EDIT: I enabled Hyper-V, and use Edge for online editing. That used to cause display crashing. It now works well, and it feels faster. Two finger zoom on the touchpad appears to work a bit better. Now if sleep doesn't kill the battery, my only issue is...

Solved Win 10 mail app??? Is it designed to make you break, give in and get outlook?

I thought it was just me. :) Often I click on an email to mark it as read, and it disappears instead.

Google Drive, OneDrive - Battery issues

I use Google Drive. I haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary ONCE EVERYTHING WAS SYNCED. If I recall, it did suck power while it synced initially, which took a long time, like two days, over my slow internet.

Solved Win 10 mail app??? Is it designed to make you break, give in and get outlook?

I'm actually pretty good with it now. When Win 10 first came out, the mail app was too unstable and didn't allow me to configure it enough. It isn't bad now. A bit basic, but that is generally OK.

    BSOD and video driver crashes

Turning off Hyper-V got rid of my screen crashes.

    Plugged in or battery power

Use it so it is most convenient for you is what I say. Lithium batteries are worn out when cycled. So try not to intentionally cycle them. They are potentially damaged at really low states of charge. So don't let it set around near 0% for a long time. They are damaged by heat. Try to keep them...

    Horrendous Keyboard Backlighting

Yep. So I turn it off. Only on in very low light situations. Never cared for keyboard backlighting anyway.

Bluetooth mouse that saves a USB port.

I got a T630 for my Surface Pro long ago. I also use it on the Surface Book. It works very well IMHO and is very light and portable. The only issue I have is that it is a bit small for my large hands.

    Charge clipboard with base battery

Since a lot of people are OK with having an external component (the keyboard) charge the clipboard, why not just get an external battery pack. It can run as well as charge the clipboard. And even charge the keyboard. Mike Guyver at : Mobile Connected Tech: Macbook, Surface, Dell, Yoga, External...

any hints on lte radio coming?

Personally I don't want the extra monthly bill or battery suckage. I just quickly tether it to my existing smartphone on those rare occasions.

Does anyone still get the BSOD occasionally?

I don't recall a BSOD since the updates in, I think was December. I'm still reluctant to detach the screen though if I haven't saved my work. :D

    Hinge Point

I think the hinge works very well also. The screen doesn't 'wobble' much compared to almost everything else I tested. Which is great for a touch screen device. On my wish list. I wish it opened up a bit more. But I can't think of anything else.

    Maps App Road Display Fix

The second work around works for me. But then it of course fails when I detach the clipboard from the base/dGPU.

    "Autorotate On" message

Same for me. The display will not rotate when attached to the keyboard, normally. But if the random 'autorotate on' message appears, it will rotate even when still attached to the keyboard. Minor annoyance, but odd.

    what would you do?

In the poll you need the option to "try a reset". Or "remove the update".

    Edge flickering

I use Edge most of the time. I used to get flickering and driver crashes. After the updates, it has only happened once or twice.

Mouse moves on its own when closed

This has an ungrounded two wire plug. It shouldn't matter.

Mouse moves on its own when closed

Are you saying that the track pads detect movement when the cover is closed? That might explain the dead batteries.

Any Plans for Office Lens for Surface Book?

What does having Office Lense gain you, over simply using the camera app and pasting the photo in a document?
