Method 3 works !!
It is a workaround and does its trick. Also "Iobit Unlocker" works well. I would have thought that the "Eject" in File Explorer would do it without jumping the hoops to do it!
For the time being I am still inclined to stick with my subject heading "Erratic File Explorer"...
Yes, of course, I meant Eject (Sorry for the spell error). Here is a sequence of my actions:
I plug in USB stick
The USB stick shows up in the File explorer and the content of the USB is shown in the right panel.
I do nothing at all, except now I rightclick the USB ID
The "Eject" shows
Click...
The Windows File Explorer accepts a USB device in its proper way, and displays the content as expected. After I finished whatever I was doing with the USB device (Memory stick) I attempt to disconnect the device by rightclicking on the device ID. This brings up the "reject". Clicking on this...
My Device Manager shows 8 WAN Miniport drivers. Here is the list :
IKEv2, IP, IPv6,L2TP,NETWORK MONITOR, PPOE,PPTP,SSTP
Do I really need them all? Which one are needed? I looked them all up and all are reporting that the are working properly,
My computer is not connected to the internet (see my previous post)
Home->Devices ->Bluetooth & Other devices has " an + icon " that says "Add Bluetooth", but when clicking on it, on the next display it says "On this Window device, turn onBluetooth"
(Catch 22)
My SP6Pro das not connect to the internet due to problem with the network driver.
Need new driver for the network adapter. How to delete the corrupt one before installing a new one. I found a source for the new driver, but would like to be sure the corrupt one is deleted before installing the...
For the record, here is the table listing the keystrokes:

I am glad that you agree that there should be only one MS ID and PW. But the fact remains that the 2016 version of OneNote rejected the login. Yet my normally used login ID and PW still work on other MS stuff. The disaster that my Outlook has lost all its contact info was a real pain, but like...
msolok : I followed your instructions to the letter and was successful to have OneNote2016 as an alternative to plain OneNote (the more up to date one) on my start page. But here is my problem: Using OneNote2016 requires me to sign in with my Microsoft account. I used the same ID and PW as I...
You might be right, but let me regurgitate your info and let me express it in a form that my young grandson might be able to understand:
I have an Account (ID and PW) registered with Microsoft. This enables MS to put data on a remote computer (it might be in Timbuktu, for all what I care) that...
It will take some time to digest the info given in the last two replies. But first I need some clarifications on some terms used. It is my understanding that an account is the gateway that permits entry to the data and tools of an app. You might consider it as a key (open sesame). So you don't...
I do have Office365 Personal. My Contacts are displayable when Outlook is active on the screen. All I have to do is to click on the people icon on the very left on the screen. My problem is how to sync the complete content of the Contact to my other devices. Just saying that my contacts will...
I can do even better, I can add my Acer Laptop as well. It still would not enlighten me how the sync would accomplish the task when different operating systems are used.
But to add one more question to the subject: I would like to know what apps can be synced and what cannot be synced. e.g I...
I have three active computers on my home network: iMac, Surface pro 6, and a Surface 2. They have each a different operating system, but each have OneNote installed. Making changes on one will show up on the two others. This surprised me somewhat, because I was under the impression that...
I have some difficulty in understanding the negative reaction of some for the lack of Win10 Pro. The added features of the Pro version are only useful for some and not every business users. The ones who desperately need to have the extra capability should easily afford to invest the extra U$...
