Right. But, after 4 hours you are no longer in connected standby correct? which means no more instant on, correct? So there is no more network connectivity, correct? What I am trying to figure out is why, now, I seem to be in connected standby even after 4 hours.

I use firefox exclusively and daily and have no issue with it. No problem pinching to zoom in/out in google maps. Maybe you should try reinstall it. I also have no problem with the power connected and using sp3 on my lap. Connection does not come loose. Maybe yours is faulty.

the only issue i had with it was it makes it difficult to swipe up from the bottom, but i just got used to swiping down from the top instead.

i have had no issues using the track pad to scroll. that said, if i have a lot of real estate to cover, i usually drag the scroll bar within the browser.

In denying myself the prettiness that is IE Metro, I gain a plethora of functionality I'd rather not be without.

I use firefox. Doesn't seem to have an adverse affect on battery, but then I've never used IE on the SP3, I only know my normal. No way I could live without firefox add-ons.
