    SP4 just boot to bios

Have you tried this? Format USB drive as Fat32 Step 1: Attach a bootable USB device to the USB port. Step 2: Press and hold the volume-down button. Step 3: Press and release the power button. Step 4: When the Surface logo appears, release the volume-down button. Surface will start the software...

Would there be any benefit to getting a Surface Dock instead of a powered USB hub?

I had that jerky mouse too if I plugged the USB receiver into the hub, but found it didn't have that when it was plugged in away from hub such as on my monitor (I have a USB cable from hub to monitor USB in and 4 USB out ports on monitor).

Would there be any benefit to getting a Surface Dock instead of a powered USB hub?

I use a 7 port USB 3 hub which has 12V/3Amp power adapter. It has 2 charging ports that charge my iPhone twice as fast and I can also charge my iPad with it. I got to plug all 3 cables in: USB, mDP and power cable, but have them bundled together to make it easier. The advantage of the dock is...

Surface Pro Eye Strain and Headaches. Please help

The Surface Pro does not have a "cheap screen" and reviews on technical LED web sites rated it as one of the best. However, there has been a lot of discussion (and controversy) regarding the mechanism of screen dimming (pulse width modulation) and eye strain. See the thread Surface Pro & Pro 2...

    Improving SSD performance

Yes, I too am anxious to see how this work, especially since I don't perceive any problem with my SP3 I'm reluctant to be one of the first to run this (if it's not broke don't fix it kind of this). Is this for all Samsung SSD that are used in SP3s?

Surface Pro 3 annoyance: screen auto rotation doesn't work any more.

I've read both your threads and this is weird. Having a mSD card in is a well known issue causing re-installation of Windows to hang, and I can see how it may cause an issue during booting (thanks to good advice from @leeshor) ... but affecting auto rotate?!? Do you have another mSD card to...

Surface pen and One Note destop with Windows 1-

I have the SP3. I bought the SP4 pen and uninstalled all the pen related drivers and installed all the SP4 pen drivers ( SurfacePen, SurfacePenPairing, SurfacePenSettingsDriver). I did see those pen button customizations once, but the pen didn't work right, the eraser didn't erase so after...

Surface pen and One Note destop with Windows 1-

I've uninstalled and re-installed the Surface app, checked for updates, etc. And I don't have those extra settings.

Surface pen and One Note destop with Windows 1-

Yeah, I guess the only way is to run Office 2013 in Windows 8. The 2016 version on One Note also removed the ability to insert a phot taken with the camera. I thought upgrades were supposed to add features, not take them away. I use the pen button to open One Note just to use it as a white...

Surface pen and One Note destop with Windows 1-

If I recall correctly, with Office 2013 when you first open One Note with the pen button it asks if you want to keep One Note MUI as the default. Check in One Note 2013 options if there is an option to set it as the default version of One Note and see if that does it.

Surface pen and One Note destop with Windows 1-

As far as I know, if you're using Office 2016, no.

    Life scare all....

Well it's great you're "still ticking". Hope you get back to your old self soon. You know as a tablet the Surface is great for in bed use and from an easy chair (better than a desktop). It should help you pass the time while you recuperate.

    Pen-Button doesn't open OneNote

I believe that option existed in Office 2013 but is lost when you upgrade to Office 2016.

    Pen-Button doesn't open OneNote

Do you have the (free) app store version of OneNote? (It's the MUI version, should have been installed when Surface was new). That's the version that opens by default with the pen button.

Solved an offset between cursor and nib

Or you can right click on Start button and open Control Panel and get Tablet PC Settings there.

    Pen-Button doesn't open OneNote

I do find the pen click to open OneNote useful (when it works:rolleyes:). I teach medical residents and students on rounds and carry my SP3 asleep. One click and I got a blank page in OneNote where I can can jot down notes or draw diagrams for teaching.

    New Potential SP4 user

You can get a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard and connect a monitor via mDP and use it as a desktop. You can connect a USB hub to connect many other devices (for home use a powered hub is best to power all those extra devices). And I have a mDP to VGA and a mDP to HDMI adapter to connect to...

    Power Button Issue (solved)

It's not just an SP4 issue, I've had this happen with my SP3.

Just discovered something new -- to me -- about my Surface Pro

I can't find PC Settings in Win10. I have Settings and Control Panel but there's no "General" under either. Are you using Windows 8?
