This one from Amazon is thin and lightweight although it probably wouldn't help in a bad drop it is great for scratches. Plus if you wanted to you could just use the part on the tablet and not the keyboard as this case is in 2 pieces.
I'm on a Surface Book and it is fine for me. Just remember that other than a couple of hours you can easily roll back to your current version of Windows 10 so you really have nothing to lose rather than time and the 10GB-12GB of storage that the old Windows will take up on your hard drive.

I hear you Bill. You know I had the Note Pro 12.2 and am still upset with Samsung for not updating that beast of a tablet. It was ahead of it's time but just fell behind due to its hardware.
It was still the best tablet I ever owned besides the iPad Pro 12.9 and that only because of the iPad's...
Don't forget these issues you read about may seem like a lot but on forums most people who join and post are doing so because they have a problem and a lot of them are not experienced users, IE myself!
But from what I've seen Microsoft has corrected most issues and the SP4 is a very stable...
The only setup I see so far for the Galaxy Book LTE on Samsung's site is for i5, 4GB ram, 128 SSD, and Verizon for $1299 which is kinda steep in my opinion and will not do the kind of computing you mention in your first post.
Thanks for the tip on setting it to 5 GHz. I do have a question though. When I travel will it connect to Wi-Fi bands that are only 2.4 GHz or will I need to change the setting back to auto?
I'm curious as heck as to what Shawn gets as well. Oh and you left something off on your item's description that is important... I bet your Beast of a Machine has 16gigs of ram doesn't it? No biggie but the extra 8 makes a difference when it comes to heavy lifting. But I have never noticed and...
They both came out at the end of October 2015 but my comparison was between the SP4 and the SB in that except for the overall weight and cost the SB is a better machine in my opinion.
I have owned the Pro 4 but now own the low end Surface Book and really love it over the SP4. There are usually some good deals floating around on this model i5, 128GB for around $1299 if you keep your eyes open; unless it is too heavy.
If so then I would agree with Exhile for you to wait on the...
Same here as I have the i5 Surface Book and it flies thru everything I throw at it. But I'm not a gamer or video editor. And you have a great week also!
Mickey
Thanks Keith. I've had the Surface Book since December as well and Edge has been fabulous on it. In fact everything has. But I'm glad to hear things are getting better for you. Hopefully that will continue! thanks again!
Yes you do have time and might get a good deal on a new SP4 around July or August. From what I have read (rumors mind you) the SP5 really won't have much more to offer consumers than the SP4.
Thanks for the updates. You mention these build numbers so are these beta versions or the final release version that you are referring to? Sorry for being so slow on this!
The following thread may or may not be of help to you but it sure did the trick for me.
