Okay.
Does the same thing happen when you go through an entire use cycle without the keyboard: Power up, browse, etc., shut down. In other words, with the clipboard connected to power, and no keyboard, Connect the power directly to the clipboard (screen) without the keyboard through this...
@timsampson
Sure sounds like a dirty connection to the keyboard. Check for debris on both sides and blow out (if you use your mouth, do it through a lint-free cloth). This happened to my SP3 and had me stumped for 2 months. Turned out to be a tiny fiber of something which was attracted to...
Cory,
The problem may indeed be by design of the SP7, but this would be a very common complaint, if so. It sounds like your particular SP7 has the issue. Of course, at this point it cannot be determined whether the issue is hardware, firmware, or software. Do you have any friends with an...
The eMMC is the embedded multimedia card (processor). It serves as a storage device to assist the main processor. Must be functioning for the PC to work.
I can't think of any reason that card would go bad while the Surface is merely aging on the shelf and not being used.
Make sure you do not...
Sorry for this trouble, @Lugie.
Check for debris causing a bad connection of the screen with the keyboard. Clean or blow out to make sure they are clean.
I've been using a 12v car power cord to charge my Surface Book 2 devices for years. Is that a possibility instead of using USB-A?

Is it possible to attach the keyboard backwards? I don't have an SP4, so I don't know. But on my SP3 my keyboard stopped working at one point, and I mysteriously fixed it by connecting the keyboard backwards and rebooting. I suspect that triggered Windows to "switch on" a bit of firmware...
What I meant by the Tablet Mode comment was to rule out that Windows has changed how you can position windows. In other words, focus on the taskbar as the culprit.
Oh my. Yes, sounds like a touchpad issue indeed. In tablet mode you should be able to use your finger on the screen to get the correct result. Likewise, with a mouse, a mouse click on the title bar should work to float the window properly.
It could be that some grit got into the works of...
Thanks for that explanation. Logitech provides some great hardware and software features. When Windows finally adds the equivalent better functionality, they clash because of context.
It is likely someone else will have this same issue. You are helping them already.
You may consider...
Sorry about your "brick" troubles. Why not install Acrobat from the Microsoft App Store or from Adobe, since not being able to use Acrobat seems to be one of your major problems?
I see your question, @benjithall1983, but have no idea. Back when I made these posts, I tried to use my iPhone as a USB dongle and pick up GPS from that. Unfortunately, the GPS words were not passed on, as that merely provided Internet access.
Clever. If you try the suction cup idea, make sure the screen is warm, and cool down quickly after doing so. That should help "set" any adhesive behind the screen into its new fit.
I wonder if the computer is actually working, but the display is off. Can you try to connect an external display, even temporarily? A repair shop would let you do this, likely at no charge.
