The problem is that the Type Cover looks like a $45 item, no matter its sophistication. It looks like Microsoft is trying to recover a loss on the Surface.

No, but if you have a second DP 1.2 compliant monitor you will have no problem daisy chaining.

From the vantage point of touch the MUI version is easier to navigate, the radial menu means you have access to a lot of commands in a rather smooth and simple fashion.
