    I wouldn't buy the surface book for gaming, maybe for a quick game but not sustained for hours....for the price of the high end surface book you could get a 15.6" gaming laptop with ALOT more power under the hood and with way better cooling, it will be heavier though and battery life laughable...

    Not an artist - will I ever use the pen?

    I use the pen to crop photos when I edit out and about, also if I need to note something quickly I will use the pen in one note. Also the pen can be handy when selecting text to copy on a webpage and pasting into one note

    this is very true, I have never been in a Microsoft store so I depend on best buy and they seem to have revamped the Microsoft kiosk but most of the time the workers are still somewhat clueless.

    Benefits from SP1 => SP4?

    the form factor will be the biggest benefit, much better keyboard also...It feels huge at first but then you get used to it, after using a Lenovo yoga 13.3 in tablet mode the surface pro screen size feels just about right. I would not want to go back to the original surface screen size now...

    I want the surface book but think I will go with sp4. My gaming laptop with a quad core i7 cpu 16gb ram, 512 and 256 ssds and Nvidia 970 3gb was 1600.00 ...I can't bring myself to spend that kind of money on an ultra book type device....yet

    hands-on, let down

    the yoga is an excellent laptop, and I personally like it equally to the surface pro. With all the different modes you can place it in (stand mode being my favorite while in bed) the screen does have some wobble to it but I grew accustomed to it and was not a deal breaker for me.
