What ever you do I wouldn't worry about uninstall Modern apps as the limit is now 81(!) and you can easily disable old devices from the store anyway.

Oh my Surface RT I get zero lag moving Office windows around. This defiantly sounds like a software problem on your device. Now just to find it... Has your device always done this even before you installed any of your own apps?

Use Windows Easy Transfer. Install your apps and updates first then run the Easy Transfer file and that should hopefully be it.

I didn't realise the Surface 2 supported micracast. Hoping a bit but does the RT support it now?

I'd also like to make the search charm default to the current app. Its extra taps which annoys me about 8.1.

Yes from experience and what I read refreshes rarely work. I was pleasantly surprised how much 8.1 saved to the cloud and how little I had to do after. Just tapped the tiles to redownload the apps very easy.

Ah I see what you mean. Hopefully that's not the case as I'm not getting a Surface 2 til next year at the earliest. I'd imagine its to early yet. Ive not seen anything but most reviews will be at the surface 2 not the RT.

Turn the volume up and listen for the device connected sound and try pushing it in further to get a connection. On my first surface RT I put a small bit of tape round the card to get a better fit.

Have you noticed much difference? Ive read about doing that before but never thought performance was bad enough for me to bother.

I wouldn't worry to much about the surface 2. 8.1 has been built for it so there shouldn't be any battery issues like I'm having. Hopefully there will be a firmware update on the 18th for the RT that fixes the battery problem.

Search the forum and you will find a thread explaining the process. However it is probably safer to wait as that process will be much easier.

For me battery life is not as good as it was mainly in standby. Ive started shutting down when I'm not going to use the surface for a long period. Hopefully this will be fixed after general release. Not everyone is having this issue though so you might be ok. Performance is much improved...

Wow that looks great although Id have no idea what I would want one mine as there becomes so much choice.... I'll have a think! I'm not sure what your asking with regards to price but say I already owned the case Id easy spend a extra £5-£10 on the picture.
