30 Day Return Policy... - Calendar Reminder Has Been Set

That's about my feeling as well. I think it's one thing for someone like myself to face many of these quirky issues, but they'd frustrate and confound more novice users to no end in my opinion. I too think many of these issues will be fixed (or at least I hope that they will be), but they may...

    New Surface users vs. old

That might be possible, but I think many are stretching or embellishing many of the complaints made by folks. I don't think anyone is expecting the SP3 to be some sort of LAN party master, but many, and I think rightly so, expected at least on-par performance to the SP2 (they may have been...

    New Surface users vs. old

I've said before and I'll hold pretty tough to it... The SP3 "upgrade" is in many ways very similar to what occurred for Apple when they introduced the first "Retina" display in the iPads. Although this increase in screen resolution had real and tangible benefits to many, it WAS a trade-off in...

    New Surface users vs. old

I think there's something to that, namely because I believe that many (prematurely) expected the logical progression of the next gen surface pro to further extend the performance abilities of the prior generation, however this wasn't to be the case. Look, the SP3 is a fine laplet, ultratab...

    can this be done

Like I said, you should certainly be able to do so, but you'll need to pay close attention to the power draw because the SP3 does not supply a lot of power to the USB port.

    can this be done

I'm going to go out on a limb here, and guess that what you're asking is about using a 4-Port USB hub with both an external hard drive and the Xbox controller simultaneously. I will start by saying that I do not own an Xbox One nor do I own any Xbox controller to use with a PC. However, that...

Cisco AnyConnect NAM v3.1.05170 and Microsoft Account Troubles

I cannot connect to the protected portion of our corporate wireless at all (as I stated it is EAP-FAST w/WPA2 Ent.), either through the built-in Windows Client or through the NAM. However, we too have an unprotected, hidden SSID guest network that the SP3 does connect to without issue. I want to...

So...has the SP3 replaced your laptop?

By "fit", I mean the being to adequately accomplish the tasks that I demand of a PC on a day to day basis in my course of business. I'm a consultant for a large enterprise storage company, so: I travel a fair bit visiting clients and customers (size and weight MATTER to me) I'm tasked with...

So...has the SP3 replaced your laptop?

Well... I'll put it this way. I just tried the SP1 on whim back when it was on fire sale at BB just to see if I could "fit" it into my workflow. It "fit" so well, that my workplace supplied i7 15" MacBook Pro has been sitting on it's dockstand in my office ever since. It literally never leaves...

Cisco AnyConnect NAM v3.1.05170 and Microsoft Account Troubles

Sounds crazy I know... But my company generally uses the Cisco AnyConnect NAM Supplicant to provide corporate access to our internal EAP-FAST wireless access. Well, I can certainly get this working well with both my SP1 and my SP2, but I've been unable to associate with our APs using the SP3...

anyone having problems coming out of sleep?

I don't really "know" what the volume of issues are, as I don't try to get a "true" feel for the propensity of issues from forum posts. That being said however, I do feel that these issues are quite common. I'm not really much help because I just don't have the patience to deal with support...

    Any Happy SP3 users?

As far as I can tell the version downloaded from OneNote.com is no less complete than the one that was originally included with my office 2013 install, but I haven't done any extensive comparison or anything.

anyone having problems coming out of sleep?

I'm right there with you. I really don't understand the apologists here. This is not acceptable especially with such an aggressive stance on the product out of the gate. Do they not have any "lessons learned" capabilities there in Redmond? I'm not necessarily ditching the SP3, but it is...

How do you feel about the size/portability of SP3 versus your (former) SP2 ?

I have every one of the surface versions right now in-house, and even with all of the "issues" surrounding the firmware/drivers on the SP3 right now, I still feel that it's as close to the "ideal" sized device that I've ever had. In much the way that I feel that the iPad Air pretty much trumps...

For those who are having WLAN Issues - (Possible Fix - Tested for the last 48 hours)

C'mon... It's all tongue in cheek :D But it's true that I've seen many a device "mangled" through the inappropriate use of device manager :-D By the way... I allowed the device to go into sleep mode while I was driving back from my in-law's around 30 minutes away and once I got home when I...

Some Apple reliability perspective.........not all rosey toeszies

I 100% agree, but the crazy thing is... I've got one of those 3rd Gen iPads (first Retina) and it's still a very viable tablet much as the Surface Pro 3 is today. It's just not everything that many hoped it would be or has been pitched as being. I'm not getting rid of my SP3 for the same reason...

For those who are having WLAN Issues - (Possible Fix - Tested for the last 48 hours)

When that happens, I bet if you go into Device Mangler, you'll notice that the entire adapter has went **poof** and up and vanished. If you rescan for new hardware it will usually pop back in. Try it next time and see if you can avoid the reboot.

Local vs. Microsoft account- why or why not

I concur with the general consensus here... MS has the way syncing should work pretty close to down pat. iOS iCloud based syncing comes close, but it's not as good.

Some Apple reliability perspective.........not all rosey toeszies

I'm not dogging the XBOX. I hacked the ever loving' out of my original, lovin it to death all of the way and I got some decent time out of the first 360 too before my RROD experience (I wish I had gotten 2 years outta mine). But the fact remains that it's still a poor example of MS hardware...

Ummmm... RROD is an acronym with meaning for a REASON.
