No problems here either. I have two external drives attached with no issues (as of now). Edit: One of the external drives is an externally powered one though. The other one is a portable HDD (WD Passport).

Similar situation. My SP4 feels a bit faster than the SP3 - not a whole lot but noticeable. Of course the SP4 is the i5/8GB/256GB unit while the SP3 was the i5/ 4GB/ 128GB.

You should blame MS for my buying the SP4 so late in the day. My previous machine - a SP3 which I bought on release day in Canada - was amazing!!! It has travelled continents with me. It has stayed with me in the best of hotels (where I had to pay high wifi charges!!!!!) and in very basic rooms...

I am running the AU also on my SP4 i5/8GB/256GB unit and it seems to be working fine. Just been two days thought that I go the SP4 so still running down battery and a few more settings. But otherwise it is working just fine - as of now!!!
