The downloadable recovery image does not create an on-disk recovery partition. I tried it. It is a good way to install Window 10 on your Surface Pro 3 though. The recovery image has all the firmware and driver for the Surface so that will save time.

I see that Microsoft has recovery images for both Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 for the Surface Po 3. My question is other then having a recover partition on your hard drive is there any advantage of install Windows 10 recovery image or Windows 10 standard download for all computers.

Does anyone have problem with the new style dock for the SP3? Sometimes when I boot my SP3 the USB will work fine. Other times when I reboot or cold boot the dock the USB ports will not work and I have to power off then power back on the dock to get the USB ports working. I’m and on Windows 8.1.

I do this all the time with Acronis. Just hold the volume in the down position, and then press and release the power button. When you seen the Surface logo on the screen let go of the volume button. It will now boot to the DVD drive and let you test, backup or restore your Surface.

All that I have found on the web is that Sony works best mirroring with android devices. I went through all this when I got my Surface also. Sony controls what device can connect to their TV’s. They have their own hardware for mirroring. I have a Samsung note 8 and it connects every time.

I have the new driver installed no my Surface Pro. You need to download the zip file and use have disk to install manually.

Try going into Internet Options > General > Start with tabs from last section. See if that helps.
