I can't remember if it's 8.1 specific, but in the Settings for SkyDrive you can enable sharing of apps between devices under Sync Settings. I think 8.1 should be out this week(?). You'll need both devices to be signed into the same SkyDrive account I assume. Much the same as having multiple iOS...

If you go into the Updates screen, there's an option to View Details (or something similar) and it'll list all the updates that are applicable.

First thoughts are that your new phone supplier doesn't allow tethering. Test the Surface with a phone that you know works, and vice versa, to see if the problem is the Surface or the phone.

Not 100% sure, but on the PC the printer is connected to/shared from, view the printer properties and look for the drivers tab. Should be an option to install additional drivers. You'll want to install 32 bit drivers in there for your Surface to be able to install.

I did the full wipe the other day (Outlook.com finally let me change my primary alias to one I wanted, but Surface kept displaying the "old" one and it was really bugging me). Had no issues, everything worked just fine.

What do you mean by "splitter"? I've not got a Pro, but I'd have thought any connected USB hub would allow both devices to be connected. There was a link to one custom designed to fit the SP on here somewhere I think. Bluetooth is the way to go though.

Welcome and all that. If you're running IE11 on another machine, the Favourites will sync across. Not sure about importing them, they just synced across for me. For SMS I use a mobile phone.
