Update worked fine, no problem with 5ghz.

Well I am about to head home in a couple of hours and I will update and let you know if I have the same issues.

Did you reset the modem, router? Forget network and reconnect? Give that a try, see if that solves it, I doubt it will, but worth a shot. What router do you have? If you have the Netgear Nighthawk series they had new updated firmware yesterday, maybe that will help.

I use classic shell, but I end up just creating shortcuts for everything nowadays.

It didn't connect to the 5Ghz before? I haven't updated to today's updates but I have always been able to connect to 5Ghz.

I have my Sp3 connected via hdmi and it works great, no scaling issues and my monitor was a $129.99 Asus.

Adobe Flash Player is known to be a resource hog, I have tested Flash videos on my other laptops and the same thing happens, the CPU usage spikes along with the temperature. So AegisValour please don't think it's a SP3 issue, I avoid Flash as much as I can for that reason.

Any gaming that isn't Mahjong or Solitaire will at some point trigger the fan. As far as video playback or streaming, I haven't noticed the fan turn on, unless it's due to Flash.

After I turned off notifications running in the background my battery life jumped to 7 hours from about 5 hours and I use brightness at about 35%. Honestly I couldn't do full 100% brightness, even when plugged in, it's way to bright for my eyes.
