    Solved 2 Questions

I extend monitor 2 and 3 and leave the SP3 screen off. I am still having the problem of having to power cycle the monitors when waking up the SP3. For some reason, the dock does not tell the monitors there is a signal (or something like that). Other wise Windows has started to remember the...

    Solved 2 Questions

So I connected my second Dell monitor to the first using a displayport to displayport mini cable. After fiddling with the settings for a while I was able to set up the monitors extending 2 - 3 with the SP3 screen off. Works great. The issue I am having is I need to fiddle each time I dock my...

    Solved 2 Questions

So it seems that my SP3 dock is working properly with one monitor set to DP 1.2. I am waiting for a DP to DP 1.2 cable to arrive in the mail today so I can test the two monitor setup without a hub. The Dell monitors I purchased have a DP out so my fingers are crossed that they play nice with my...

    Solved 2 Questions

Michael, Thank you. I ordered the two Dell monitors with dual display port to make a neat connection for both monitors. I am a little nervous after reading a few posts about bad docking stations. If mine is defective, I will probably not know what is causing issues during initial setup...

    Solved 2 Questions

2 questions: 1. How can I receive visual notifications when mail arrives (using built-in Win 8.1 mail app)? The icon does not show new mail nor does the system show a temporary flag of new arrival. Notification is enabled in the settings section 2. Using the SP3 dock, is it possible to use 1...

    Print range

Well, after an hour of unsuccessful tech support with MS, I am reaching out to the folks on this board who are much smarter than I. While in the mail app built in to Win 8.1, is it possible to select a range of pages to print in a multi-page message? I have tried everything including time with...

    Help...driver error when connecting pen

After refresh ands update(s) install, the pen functions normally. However, the firmware driver continues to display a caution triangle in device manager. A different agent at MS support said this driver issue is common with the SP3 and should be exchanged.

    Help...driver error when connecting pen

I refreshed the device using the refresh option under recovery. This fixed the issue but I noticed all updates were removed. I fear once I reinstall all updates, the firmware error will reoccur. Does anyone have experience with this?

    Help...driver error when connecting pen

Exchanged my i5 128 SPa3 for the i7 256 yesterday. After installing every update available, I am still not able to connect my surface pen. The driver error message sent me to device manager where I see the dreaded yellow triangle on the touch controller firmware. The system continues to tell me...

Actually I just went to the home screen and tried the search again. Much faster. All I did was start typing and Bam, there is was. I feel better.

    Slow search function

I recently purchased a i5 128 SP3. I saved a file that for the life of me I could not locate. When I went to explorer and typed in the file name in the search window (entire PC), it literally took over a minute to find the file. I don't have much on it except for the native program files...

Coming from Macbook Air (mid-2011) i7

Thanks. In terms of what I see in performance, it does lag a tiny bit compared to the Air. Will have to see if I can live with it. If not, I do hope it helps the share price.

Coming from Macbook Air (mid-2011) i7

Just picked up a SP3 i5 128 gig. So far so good, however I am wondering if I need to match the processor of the computer I am coming from. I have been using a Macbook Air mid-2011 i7 laptop. The computer is fast and smooth. Should I exchange my i5 SP3 to match the processing power of my Mac...
