My buddy had a matte screen protector on his SP3 and it quickly wore down his stylus nib. Personally, I dont think you need one. Never had one on my SP2 and the screen was pristine after 2 years of usage.

The Surface makes a regular appearance in the Sherlock show Elementary showing it in use pretty often. I've only seen one in the wild but it was nice to see a kid at a Starbucks drawing on his pro surrounded by people with ipads.

Just did the March 11th updates and everything went smoothly. I had the the Intel display software before the update so not sure if it is the same or added after the update.

I think the stylus should be your decider. If you dont plan on ever drawing or using the pen that often, theres probably something more powerful for less $.

@Mickey, I don't remember if it offered a trial but I picked it up based on my buddies recommendation (who also has an SP2).

I got my SP2 on launch day and haven't had many issues except the battery drain which seems to have been worked around now. After using it since launch, my SP2 (4200u) has a really small creak/flex a few inches from the top left corner. Otherwise it seems fine so I'd hate to exchange it for one...

I highly recommend Mobile.HD as a Metro player. It's $3.49 but it plays any codec I've thrown at it so far including MKVs. I've been using it to stream movies to my Xbox One.
