What if... (Surface AIO/Dock)

So I was eating lunch today, minding my own business, when I was stuck with a sudden thought far too incredible to be even hoped for. What if the Surface "All-in-one" turns out to be not only modular, but modular in such a way that it can act as a dock w/dGPU for an existing Surface with Surface Connect? I don't know what scale to rate my joy on if that turned out to be the case.

I wouldn't mind if it was also capable of acting as an independent PC, but if that was only one of it's roles... All I can say is it would feel like the true and worthy beginning of the modular PC era. And yes, I know that PCs have been modular "since the beginning". I'm talking about unprecedented ease of access with cross platform (mobile/laptop/desktop) compatibility, so lets not get hung up on that since my point for this thread is speculation of best case scenario for a Surface brand all-in-one type device.
