Water damage to screen - do I have options?

Because of a small housing flood, my Surface P3 screen does not function. The touch screen works and the computer itself is fine (aka I'm using an external monitor and keyboard). It's only been a day so I'm hoping that is might 'dry out' and show image again (which happened to one of my phones a few years ago).

Does anyone have experience with water damage on a SP3?

There's been a lot of old posts on the controversy over whether putting it in a bag of rice is a good idea. Just search "rice" on this forum.
The fact it still works (with external monitor and keyboard) is great, even if the screen never comes back at least it can be still used as a desktop. Not a total wash (pun intended).
