Ah the classic VI vs. emacs debate.....just as long as no one here has BASH installed we're OK....

I've used Frontpage since v1... the last equivalent was Expression Web which has been free since MS abandoned it a while ago... still one of the best web editors around though:

Yep, I took the same journey... FrontPage -> Expression Web -> Web Matrix

Web Matrix does NOT have a built-in GUI designer... which is typically not a problem for most folks. If you need a built-in GUI designer, then you'd go for Visual Studio.

BTW: I use ksh... not bash!
