tiles stay on desktop

The tiles stay on my surface Pro desktop. The tiles work when I click on one and then the tiles are not there (good). How do I get my desktop to look and work normally?

Either click the Action Center icon(looks like a little speech bubble)located all the way to the right in the task bar, or swipe left on your screen from the right edge, which does the same thing. When you open the Action Center, down at the bottom is a square that says "Tablet Mode". Click that and it should take you back to your regular Windows desktop.
