Hey everyone,
I bought a used Surface 3 Pro on eBay. I received a unit that was functioning properly, and it had Windows updates to perform while I was installing my software. The surface restarted about 3 or 4 times while I was using it showing the "Surface" Logo and saying, "Installing new firmware, please wait" or something like that. It sat for about 30 minutes and didn't change, so I held down the Power button to restart the tablet. Now when I turn it on, the screen stays black while the backlit keyboard lights up. I've pressed and held the power and volume up buttons to try to reset. I'm thinking the tablet I bought was defective. Hoping to see if I can do something else to get the screen to come on before I file a return.
