SP4 screen brightness becoming a major problem...advice please

I have a SP4. As time is going by I'm getting tired of the constant bugs.

The one that I'm having the most trouble with is the screen brightness. I'll turn the laptop on and the auto dim will be very dim at first, then when I adjust it adjusts the screen brightness after I adjust it so it's too bright.

I finally turned the auto brightness off, but the screen still seems to adjust it's brightness anyway. It's really annoying, so is there any fix to this?

In the advanced power settings there is a setting about how the screen acts while on battery or while plugged in. That shouldn't, by default, with auto bright off, be an issue plugged in. I would check those settings. This normally might be an issue only after being idle for a while so it may not apply.
