Based on some things I have read lately, just because it has a mobile version of Skylake that doesn't automatically mean no fan. It seems some other portable devices also have Skylake with a fan.

Fan or no Fan is dependent on power. An i5U, i7U is going to be 15W and needs a fan. Core m3-6y30 will be 3.5-7W and wont require a fan although some vendors still might use one.

Here's what we're looking at:
  • 6th Gen 2.2-GHz Intel Core i7-6650U processor with Intel Iris graphics 540
  • 6th Gen 2.4-GHz Intel Core i5-6300U processor with Intel HD graphics 520

The new Surface Pro 4 also includes two cameras:
a front-facing 5-megapixel camera with Windows Hello facial recognition, and
an 8-megapixel rear camera.
Ports include a reversible USB-C connector for power and docking,
a Mini DisplayPort,
a headset jack,
a full-size USB 3.0 port, and
a microSD card reader.
Microsoft will also offer an optional docking station with four USB 3.0 ports, two 4K-capable DisplayPorts, and an Ethernet jack that can all be added to the tablet using a single USB-C cable.

WAIT WHAT Ports include a reversible USB-C connector for power and docking
This is unconfirmed but that's a significant departure if true... how would this work with the SP3 dock?

Appears CNet is wrong Anadtech indicates no USB-C

The pictures on the Microsoft site certainly show no sign of a usb-c port, nor do the tech specs.
