resolution and external monitor

I always have my surface on 150%, when attaching an external monitor it stays at 150% and looks really bad. Is there a way to make it stick to 100% on external monitor and back to 150% on surface?

Nope.

This was 'meant' to be fixed with Windows 8.1 but somehow it wasn't... we live in hope.

Are you using the default Slider or the Older Windows 8 (and earlier) setting for DPI? Using the slider you should get 150% on the Surface and 100% on the external monitor, you can adjust the settings of any Win32 program if they don't look crisp by right clicking the ".exe" or short-cut and clicking properties, Compatibility Tab and checking the box Disable display scaling or High DPI settings.

no, i used the radio buttons options. I'll look into that, thanks.
