Remote Desktop Help - Surface RT to Windows 7 Ultimate

Hi,
First time post.
I have a MS Surface RT which i am wishing to use to remote access my Windows 7 Ultimate PC.
I have followed all instructions I can find everywhere to no avail.
Currently I have allows the PC to allow remote assistance and also allow connections in remote desktop.
I Go to the Surface which has the Remote Dekstop app installed but it says that I need credentials.
How do I set this up to allow my Surface to remote desktop the PC

You enter the credentials (username and password) that you use on the Windows 7 machine typically like this:

"Windows7computerName\username" where Windows7computerName is the name that you called your Windows 7 Machine.

If there isn't password on the Windows 7 machine Remote Desktop will not work...

I dont have a password set on my home PC at present.
