Question about Onedrive Uploads

If I export pictures in PhotoShop from my Surface to my Onedrive (via export within PhotoShop) does it save them on my physical disc/SSD as well as upload to Onedrive? Making it available also offline?

Just wondered if I was saving space by exporting to my Onedrive instead of to my Pictures Folder.

The way OneDrive is normally set up, it will save them to disk AND copy them to OneDrive.
