problem with wifi and Bluetooth

Hi,

I received a used surface pro 3 as a gift. The device already had a problem with the wifi and Bluetooth, there was an issue with the touch screen but I managed to get it working.

However I find that although wifi drivers are installed and hardware detected, no between us being detected, also Bluetooth does not work.

The system is running on Windows 8.

For the time being I am using an external wifi dongle and it's working well.

What is the status of the wifi problems in the surface pro 3?

I read in there internet that the device needs to be returned to Microsoft ?

I had one of the systems I service have the same problem. I did everything including rebuilding it with no luck. I finally sent it in to Microsoft under warranty and they either fixed it or gave me a replacement. I didn't check serial numbers so I'm not sure which they did.
