Outlook links

Let me start by saying I've read every article after searching online (100's) and none of them solved my problem. I speak of the question…..Why can't I open a link in Outlook 2007 using Windows 10.
There are 100's of answers but none of them work for me. I'm giving it one last shot to see if someone can figure it out.
I have a service Pro7 with the following system….

I also have Internet explorer 11. Ie11 did not come with the computer, so I downloaded it from the Microsoft website. As a result it does not show up as an App or on the list of Default Apps. Microsoft Edge is my default browser.

Anyhelp would be appreciated. Ifnot P guess I'll give up.

Close Outlook
Open command prompt as admin and enter the following commands:

REG ADD HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\.htm /ve /d htmlfile /f
REG ADD HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\.html /ve /d htmlfile /f
REG ADD HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\.shtml /ve /d htmlfile /f
REG ADD HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\.xht /ve /d htmlfile /f
REG ADD HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\.xhtml /ve /d htmlfile /f

I'm gonna guess it's the one I left out /s

Internet Explorer is deprecated and only supported by Business Customers paying for extended support and Office 2007 has reached the end of support as well. URL handling has changed enormously since the mid-2000s. Upgrading to a newer version or switching to Mail or Outlook.com is your best bet.

It works fine on my 2 HP laptops. It seems spcific tom the Surface.

Your specific build of Outlook on the Surface must not be the same as on your HP devices.

They were all loaded from the same disk.

What is your default (hyperlink) browser on the Surface? This may be the problem. Try setting to Edge, see if it works. If so, set your default browser back to whatever you had.

I suppose you tried all of these but confirmation would be useful.
