No windows 10 update available

So I reserved the update weeks ago and today fired up my surface pro for the first time in a week. No sign of the windows thingie on the bottom of the desktop. So I did a windows update and downloaded a bunch of system updates and installed all of them (I'm running W8.1). Still no update option. So I looked on the MS website and it said to run the windows troubleshooter. That didn't find anything but also didn't complete and said I should run it in a few hrs.

Is there something I'm missing here?

Anyone else have this problem?

You can install the Windows 10 update by downloading the Media Creation Tool... it has an option to upgrade directly ....
