The one issue I found with sharing photos that are located on the local hard drive is that you cant share them on Facebook or Twitter unless you upload them to Skydrive first. A new app called Photo Share was just released and it works great. Once installed, I unpinned it from the Start screen and when you're ready to share a picture, go to charms-->share and then select the PhotoShare app.
