It looks like Microsoft is finally getting tired of PC manufacturers not putting the latest Windows OS on OEM builds. They are basically issuing an ultimatum instructing OEMs to stop installing Windows 7 Pro on any new PCs going forward.
To be clear, Microsoft has actually let this go for a whole lot longer than in the past, so the fact they are finally putting their foot down now is hardly surprising. Plus, they have their shiny new Windows 10 for OEMs to use, so we can't blame them at this point.
