Microsoft is putting the finishing touches on a major Windows 10 update that’s supposed to be released at some point in the first week of November. Known as Threshold 2, or Windows 10 Fall Update, Microsoft’s next software release is tipped to include a variety of features and fixes that were supposed to be included in the final release but never made it.

According to Paul Thurrott, the update will be available just like any other update, and you won’t have to do anything special to get it. The Fall Update ships as a cumulative update, not as a full build, which means it can be applied to current Windows 10 installations, without users having to activate the operating system after the upgrade is performed.

Those Windows 7 and Windows 8 users who will upgrade to Windows 10 after the Fall Update is released will jump directly to the last version of the software.
