Windows Update just pulled in driver version 10.18.14.4156, which seems to be the equivalent of Intel's own latest driver 10.18.14.4156 (15.36.18.64.4156), available from:
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/do...HD-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-7-8-8-1-64-bit
Nice to see the Intel HD Control Panel is still there (I use it to further reduce the display luminosity/contrast when I work at night). Also, Windows Update did automatically override my previous custom install of Intel's HD 5000 drivers, without complaining, so it looks like a clean upgrade.
Cheers, Dan

Yes it was in the "optional" category of Windows Update, if I remember correctly.
So far I have been ignoring the Western Digital SES Device driver and ASIX LAN USB2 Fast Ethernet Adapter stuff...then suddenly the Intel HD Graphics showed-up.

I installed this manually yesterday. Not showing up in Windows Update, although it would be great if they were becoming more aggressive about pushing Intel's video updates. If the Intel Control Panel is there, does that mean you can drive 4k now without hacking the manual install?

installed the driver this morning, says its from March 03, everything's working fine, control panel is accessible. I was concerned it won't go smoothly since I had driver installed manually earlier from Intel's website, but it was painless. I had to install ths update manually it was listed as optional.

Confuserated, Surface Pros don't have Iris Graphics, HD 5000 isn't Iris.

Don't see an update... on an i5 which doesn't have HD 5000 graphics... that would be the i7.

The linked driver package covers all 3rd-5th Gen HD Graphics (maybe more I didn't look closely but I know it covered 3000, 4000, 4400, 5000, 6000)

I'm running Windows 10. I just checked for updates and the only update found was Defender. I used device manager to update my 5000 driver and it didn't find anything. I just did an update of the 5000 driver a couple days ago and it updated to a 2-10-2015 driver - 10.18.15.4124.

The new driver posted above isn't for Windows 10, in fact it is explicitly blocked on Threshold. The February Update is the one that shows for my HD4400 on Windows 10 Build 10041....
