Has anyone got miracast working without dongle? Win 10

My blu ray player is Miracast compatible so I tried connecting my surface to it. It shows up in devices as a play device, and when I connect to it, it says connecting as does the blu ray player but after a few seconds I get the message "cannot connect". I have tried turning off my firewall and virus protection but still get the same.​

Not having any luck here trying g to connect to my tv.

What I have found on most TVs and Blu-ray players is that their Miracast implementations are Whitelisted for specific Android Devices typically favoring their own specific devices (i.e. Samsung Android devices seem to work flawlessly with Samsung TVs and Players, ditto for LG).

I know my Panasonic TV will only connect to android, I suppose it must be the same with the Sony blue ray.
