Fingerprint reader Type keyboard: only login?

So I was told by multiple Microsoft reps the fingerprint reader on the $159 keyboard is only for login.

Really?

The camera is even faster.

So it is not a universal password device?

Do you really need a 3rd party program to use it for all.your passwords and Web sites??

I can't believe this is not baked into Windows 10

Both works as fast as each other. Face or fingerprint. I don't know if either can be used for payment or anything else that needs to be unlocked.
