PC Gamer writes that it looks like Doomfist is finally coming to Overwatch as a playable hero, with an in-universe blog post from the "Times of Numbani" reporting that the Talon organization attacked Helix Security International maximum security installation “with the express purpose of freeing one man: Akande Ogundimu, better known as Doomfist.”

The Times writes that according to the video surveillance footage, Ogundimu was sprung by “a black shadowy figure,” (a.k.a. The Reaper) who “easily overcame the Helix security agents, leaving over a dozen dead.”

After resurfacing in Numbani, Ogundimu faced down the new OR15 defence robots at the Adawe International Terminal, destroying them and reclaiming the Doomfist.

And it sounds like Doomfist might not be the only new playable hero, or item, to be sprung from Helix by Talon, as the report adds that “sources have indicated that it is likely that there were further security breaches in addition to Ogundimu.”

Overwatch fans are clearly very excited at the news, with the official Overwatch Twitter account’s tweet about the announcement getting more than 10K retweets and 19K Likes.

No clues from the report as to the exact date when Doomfist will be joining Overwatch, but it sounds like it could be very soon.
