display adapter, what electric for USB

If there is no usb port near my hdmi on tv I understand that I can use an electrical usb . Not sure what that means, is it something like the chargers for my Kindle devices? I would not like to over power the display adapter. Does Microsoft sell one just for the display adapter? Thanks My adapter is on it's way and my den tv has no usb near hdmi.

"Near" sounds at though there is a USB port somewhere in which case an extension cable might work or you can try one of these but you will still need a cable.

Yes, any charger will work like your Kindle, iPad, or phone charger. Microsoft does not sell a specific charger for the wireless display adapter, but you could use another computer to plug it within reach of your tv's HDMI port.

My TV has usb, but I hate that even I don't use this adaptor, just watching tv, the adapter was getting hot, I need a switch to turn on the adapter

thanks, There is an electric plug very near my hdmi but no usb. Hoping one of my kindle electric usb might work.
