Charging port... lack of

Hi

Was recently given an old surface (was left in hotel for 9 months, then lost property department got rid).

I am confused as there is no charging port, just a micro usb which can be used but seems terribly slow and not even sure if it will work.

The surface has a charger, with both the usb and what looks like the surface 3 charging cable.

But I cannot see any surface models without a charging port.

Is this normal?

Sounds like it is a Surface 3 so yes that is the way it charges....https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/products/surface-devices/surface-3
